Simeon Bridgewater is an Investment Director at the Global Innovation Fund, where he identifies, evaluates and manages investments in the private sector that improve the lives of the poorest people in developing countries. His portfolio includes Health, Mobile, Agriculture, Education, Financial Services and Behavioural Science organisations in Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia and South East Asia. He joined the Global Innovation Fund in May 2015, prior to which he was an Investment Manager at Northstar Ventures, a venture capital fund with over £95m under management. In this role, Simeon helped identify, appraise and manage investments across five different funds. He also contributed to Northstar’s first impact focused fund, which includes a social impact bond to reduce homelessness in the North East of the UK.
Prior to joining Northstar, Simeon worked as a Field Manager at Deloitte. In addition to core Assurance & Advisory work, Simeon helped lead the North East ‘Social Innovation Pioneers Programme’, a consulting package that supports socially innovative businesses to scale and become investment-ready.
Simeon holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from Durham University. He has also obtained the ACA qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
